In an invited competition by Emaar Properties In Dubai, Marjoram Architects collaborated with Mossessian Architecture to design two 68 storey towers
The site, in the area known as Dubai Creek, was to be a new urban development centred around a landmark structure designed by award winning architect Santiago Calatrava
Each tower could accommodate 57,000 sqm of luxury residential apartments in a prescribed mix of one to four bedroom units.
The structures were conceived as two tapering towers that communicated to each other, whilst forming a gateway and framing the landmark structure beyond.
Inspired by the Art Deco sky scrapers of New York, a panelised unitised facade system creates a series of highly articulated forms that taper to the pinnacle.
