Located in Herne Hill, the brief was to create a modern extension to a three storey Victorian townhouse on a limited budget.

Sandwiched between two party walls on either side a large glazed screen creates a link between the garden and open plan living space beyond.  

The material palette takes reference from the existing, using stock brickwork with intricate detailing and vertical timber fins which extend around the perimeter of the narrow plot. 

Large rooflights flood the internal space with natural daylight whilst exposed internal brickwork walls and a timber plank soffit create a warm yet contemporary internal environment.
